Buscan conquistar al público Three Graces con su propuesta musical

El trío abrirá los concierto del tenor Paul Potts.

México, 28 de marzo.- Con una propuesta basada en los géneros de la opera "Pop y Broadway", el trío estadounidense Three Graces se prepará para conquistar al público mexicano este 29 y 30 de marzo, durante sus presentaciones al lado de Paul Potts.

En conferencia de prensa Joy Kabanuck, Kelly Levesque, y Sara Gettelfinger, dieron a conocer algunos detalles de su propuesta musical, la cual aseguran ha recibido buenas criticas y esperan que el público mexicano la acepte de buena forma.

Las intérpretes destacaron que no es pretensión cambiar los géneros o alterarlos, sino simplemente hacer una fusión que permita crear algo nuevo y que la gente disfrute tanto la opera como el pop.

Enfatizaron que con su propuesta han creado un sonido innovador en el que se conserva la esencia de los tres géneros, además de que se han atrevido a interpretar los temas de su álbum homónimo en idiomas como ingles, italiano, francés y español.

"No pretendemos cambiar los géneros ya establecido en la música, simplemente queremos dar una probadita de algo nuevo y sobre todo mostrar nuestras matices vocales", señaló el trío cuyo nombre esta inspirado en la mitología griega.

Expresaron que han tenido una muy buena respuesta de la crítica a nivel mundial, por lo que confían en que está fusión dará mucho de que hablar en México, cuyo mercado es sumamente importante para ellos.

Sobre las presentaciones que tendrán el próximo 29 y 30 de marzo en el Teatro Metropólitan al lado del tenor Paul Potts, señalaron que mostrarán lo que es su propuesta musical y sobre todo los temas que han incluido en español denominados "Te sueño" y "Dile".

Destacaron que dentro de este concierto tendrán el gusto de interpretar un dueto con Potts, a quien consideraron como una persona que al tiene mucho que brindar.

In press conference Joy Kabanuck, Kelly Levesque, and Sara Gettelfinger gave some details of their work , assuring have received good critics of it and hope mexican public accept this in a good way.

The singers enphazised that is not their wish to change the musical styles, neither alter them, but make a fusion that allows to create something new and that people enjoy either the opera and pop.

They said that with their proposition have created a new sound, in wich they keep the essence of the three styles, and that they also sing the songs of their album in languages such as English, Italian, French and Spanish.

"We don't tempt to change the styles established already in music, we merely want to give a little taste of something new and we mostly want to show our vocals" said the trio whose name is inspired on Greek Mithology.

They expressed that they had a very good feedback from the critics from all over the world, and that's why they hope this fusion will give a lot to talk about in Mexico, as they are a very important audience for them.

About their performances on March 29th and 30th at the Metropolitan Theather with the tenor Paul Potts, they said they'll mostly show what is their musical proposition and they've included songs in Spanish named "Te Sueño" and "Dile".

Also, they added that in this concerts they will have the pleasure of singing a duet with Potts, who is considerated by the trio as a person who has a lot of talent to give.

El grupo Three graces, que mezclan pop, ópera y música al estilo de broadway, abrió ayer el concierto del tenor británico Paul Potts y repetirán su actuación hoy

Las estadunidenses Joy Kabanuck, Kelly Levesque y Sara Gettelfinger son las hermosas integrantes del grupo Three graces, que mezclan pop, ópera y música al estilo de broadway, y que abrió ayer el concierto del tenor británico Paul Potts y repetirán su actuación hoy.

“Hacemos pop inteligente, para mí es más educado que el resto porque cantamos en varios idiomas (inglés, italiano, español y francés). Los fans del pop van a reconocer elementos muy familiares a este género, pero además les va a ayudar a ser más abiertos a música distinta como la ópera y los musicales de broadway”, dijeron Kelly, la rubia nacida en Nueva York que canta pop y Joy, la hermosa castaña de Los Ángeles que ha cantado en varias obras de ópera.

Three graces lanzó su disco debut homónimo el pasado 4 de marzo y en él incluyen temas como Against all odds, original del músico londinense Phil Collins, Run, del grupo esocés de rock alternativo Snow Patrol y también dos composiciones propias tituladas I wish (all the love in the world) y Don’t forget.

“Queríamos grabar covers de pop en otros idiomas para llegar a una audiencia mayor no sólo a los angloparlantes. Hacer la selección de los temas y grabarlos fue una labor de amor, cambiamos de parecer acerca de la selección varias veces. No hablamos esos idiomas, pero tuvimos muy buenos coachs y esperamos haber logrado un buen acento.

“Edgar Cortázar tradujo These dreams (te sueño), él es mexicano y fue una de las personas que más nos ayudó, es muy entusiasta y nos dijo ‘a mi país le va a encantar lo que hacen’”, declaró Sara, la mujer de cabello negro, de Kentucky, que ha trabajado en musicales de broadway como Dirty rotten scoundrels y The boys of syracuse.

Para este disco trabajaron con productores y compositores como Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey y Celine Dion), Desmond Child (Bon Jovi), Guy Roche (Christina Aguilera) y Mark Portmann (Luis Miguel y Barbra Streisand).

Al escucharlas viene a la mente Il Divo, pero las mujeres que han acompañado a Potts en su gira por Estados Unidos y México, consideran que su estilo es diferente.

“Nos encanta su música, son muy talentosos, nos sentimos muy honradas con la comparación, pero nuestro estilo es más pop que el de ellos, sus voces son muy poderosas”, opinaron.

Como una propuesta nueva y diferente en la industria define Three Graces su concepto musical, con el que han logrado darle una nueva cara no sólo al género del pop, sino también al de la ópera y el Broadway.

No se trata de sacrificar ninguno de estos estilos, dijeron, para darles un aire más comercial, simplemente “al fusionarlos, los estamos modificando y haciéndolos más flexibles para crear una nueva fuerza musical”.

Joy Kabanuck, Kelly Levesque y Sara Gettelfinger, integrantes de este trío que aspira a alcanzar las cualidades de belleza, sabiduría y carisma de las musas griegas, comentaron que la fusión de los géneros que cada una ha manejado a lo largo de su carrera, les ha permitido crear lo que ellas llaman “un pop inteligente”.

“El pop es cíclico, tiene diferentes etapas y este concepto es algo nuevo en la industria. Es un pop combinado con elementos de la ópera y el broadway, que lo hacen único.

“Yo crecí con el pop -confesó Kelly-, pero al combinarlo con estos géneros me pareció una forma inteligente de hacer pop”.

A pregunta expresa sobre la similitud que su música puede tener con la propuesta del cuarteto Il divo, consideraron que no hay punto de comparación.

“Adoramos a Il Divo y para nosotras es lindo que nos consideren la versión femenina de este concepto, pero nosotras somos un poco más pop y hacemos menos covers.

“Lo que sí tenemos en común con ellos son las voces y la forma de interpretar, que es muy potente”.

Sara intervino para manifestar que, a su parecer, “lo que este disco ofrece es algo nuevo en la música y espero que la gente tenga la mente bien abierta para aceptar esta fusión de géneros”.

A su vez, Kelly se puso como ejemplo para señalar que nunca había escuchado la ópera ni el Broadway, “pero me encantó cuando escuché el resultado, y para mí es como abrir la puerta a quienes no conocen todos los estilos de la música y pueden disfrutarlos a través de nuestra propuesta”.

(29-Mar-2008).- El telón del Teatro Metropólitan abrió exactamente a las 20:11 horas para dar paso a la orquesta que acompañó a Paul Potts durante su presentación de esta noche.

Después de la obertura, el tenor apareció en el escenario vestido de smoking para saludar a la audiencia y comenzar la velada con "Granada". En cuanto finalizó la canción, el británico agradeció en español a su público mexicano por el apoyo brindado.

La segunda melodía de la noche fue "Everybody Hurts", en su versión italiana, la cual calificó Potts como una de sus favoritas del álbum One Chance, con el que debutó en 2007.

Durante la presentación, el trío estadounidense Three Graces apareció varias veces en el escenario para entonar algunos de sus temas, mientras Potts se retiraba por momentos. En el recital se contó con un un intermedio de 25 minutos.

Además, el tenor se hizo acompañar por el grupo de chicas para interpretar "La Traviata", la cual se convirtió en una de las más aplaudidas de la noche.

Entre los temas que cantó Paul Potts estuvieron "Time to Say Goodbye", "Bring Him Home" y "Nella Fantasia".

Durante todo el show hubo varias fallas de audio con las que tuvo que lidiar el británico, y aunque nunca interrumpió la canción, la audiencia mostró su enojo con silbidos dirigidos al staff del Teatro Metropólitan.

El recital finalizó a las 22:30 horas con la canción "Nessun Dorma", con la que el público despidió a Paul Potts de pie al grito de "¡otra, otra!".

(29-Mar-2008) .- The curtain of Metropólitan Theatre opened exactly at 20:11 hours to make way for the orchestra that accompanied Paul Potts during his presentation tonight.

After the overture, the tenor appeared on stage dressed in smoking to greet the audience and start the evening with "Granada." As the song ended, the British thanked his audience in Spanish for the Mexican support.

The second melody of the night was "Everybody Hurts", in its Italian version, which he described Potts as one of their favorite album One Chance, which debuted in 2007.

During the presentation, the American trio Three Graces appeared several times on stage to intone some of their themes, while Potts retired by now. The concert had a farce of 25 minutes.

Moreover, The Tenor made a Duet with the group of girls to perform "La Traviata", which became one of the most applauded of the night.

Among the topics that were Paul Potts sang "Time to Say Goodbye", "Bring Him Home" and "Nella Fantasia."

Throughout the show there were several flaws audio with which the British had to deal, and although he never stopped singing, the audience showed their anger with whistles directed staff to Metropólitan Theatre.

My three videos of the girls. They don´t have a good quality because I used an old digital camera and have a lot of movement because I was in first row and the security staff was close to me, so I had to hide the camera, but the sound is good, unfortunately first row is not the best place for a concert in that theater, some objects didn´t let me to see the stage , I couldn´t record the other songs because my brother didn´t charge complety the battery of the camera........sorry for the late post!!!
